The pictorial heritage of Odisha is renowned across the globe for its razor-sharp line precision, intricate floral borders, and vibrant visual storytelling.

1. Preparation of the Handmade Canvas (Patta)

Cotton fabric is layered with tamarind seed paste and crushed river chalk stone powder. Once dried, it is buffed with smooth river pebbles until it achieves a silky, burnished surface that can hold the finest micro-lines.

2. Organic Mineral Pigments

Colors are extracted by hand from organic rocks and botanical sources: white from sea conch shells (Shankha), yellow from Haritala stone, red from Hingula (cinnabar), and deep black from pure lamp carbon mixed with wood resin.

3. Real Silver & Gold Foil Leafing

To produce royal collector pieces, pure silver and 24K gold leaves are painstakingly pressed onto deity crowns and garments, giving the artwork an ethereal glow under temple lamps.
